Nature is immeasurably beautiful and brilliant. And while spring’s lighter, longer days, fresh life and warmer air are all very welcome, it remains a season that throws several skin-destabilising challenges our way.
“Spring brings changes in temperature, humidity, allergens and environmental factors. While it’s known these can cause eczema, rosacea and acne flare-ups, ‘normal’ skin can be affected too.” — Dr Mazin, our Founder
Worry not. Recognising these, listening to skin’s changing needs and knowing the simple ways to shift your routine will ensure calm, clarity and healthy condition are yours. Read on for our Dermatologist Founder Dr Mazin’s top tips for spring.
Eczema

“There are 3 main spring triggers for eczema-prone skin: pollen, temperature fluctuations and outdoor activities — explaining rising occurrences of dryness, sensitivity, redness and itchiness.” — Dr Mazin
1. Cleanse away the day
Make sure no trace of sweat, sunscreen or pollen remains on skin to reduce the risk of irritation worsening overnight. Always choose a gentle, hydrating cleanser that protects skin’s moisture balance.
Honeysuckle Cleanser and Soothing Bath & Shower Oil are ideal. Free of soap, SLS and synthetic fragrance, they’re packed with anti-inflammatory herbal ingredients such as Honeysuckle and Liquorice Root to deeply soothe skin during cleansing.
2. Create a barrier
To minimise exposure to allergens, sweat and fabric friction, apply a body cream that strengthens the skin barrier.
Moisturising Body Lotion is a lightweight, 100% natural lotion that absorbs quickly with no sticky or oily after-feel.
Rosacea

“Heat, UV and pollen are well known to aggravate rosacea-prone skin, worsening redness, sensitivity and flare-ups.” — Dr Mazin
1. Use sunscreen
Daily sun protection is crucial for rosacea-prone skin. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher — ideally one with a physical blocker such as zinc oxide.
2. Pursue calm
Nature offers some exceptionally calming herbs. Huang Qin (Chinese Skullcap) is a powerful adaptogen with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits that calm redness and protect skin.
It’s the hero ingredient in Redness Reducing Tincture. You’ll also find soothing actives such as Horse Chestnut Seed, Rosehip Oil and Vitamin C in Redness Reducing Cream.
Acne

“Warmth, humidity, sweat, sunscreen, make-up and allergens can trigger increased sebum, blocked pores and inflammation.” — Dr Mazin
1. Daily detox
Removing all traces of irritants at the end of the day is key. Cleanse with Honeysuckle Cleanser and Soothing Bath & Shower Oil for a thorough yet gentle cleanse.
A couple of days a week, deep detox with Blemish Rescue Mask. This smooth, non-drying mask works in just 15 minutes to unblock pores, clear excess oils and leave skin fresh and supple.
2. Keep it light
Even oily skin needs hydration to maintain a healthy barrier.
Blemish Rescue Face Cream is ultra-light and non-pore-blocking, enriched with Bakuchiol, CICA and Ma Chi Xian to soothe inflammation and promote clearer skin.
Psoriasis

“While increased sun exposure can help psoriasis lesions, excess UV, sweat, chlorine and some sunscreens can trigger flare-ups.” — Dr Mazin
1. Stay fresh
Sweat can irritate psoriasis due to the salt and compounds it contains. Shower soon after sweating to remove irritants using the gentle Soothing Bath & Shower Oil.
2. Protect wisely
Use mineral-based sunscreens containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These sit on skin’s surface and form a protective UV barrier without irritating compromised skin.
All skin types
“The condition of even normal skin changes with the seasons. Pay attention and adjust your routine to maintain balance.” — Dr Mazin
1. Clean up
If you’ve been outdoors during peak pollen times, cleanse with Honeysuckle Cleanser for the face and Soothing Bath & Shower Oil for the body.
2. Hydrate and protect
Drink plenty of water to support your skin barrier and overall health. Always wear sunscreen, even on cloudy days.
3. Make time for a mask
Sweat, sunscreen and dead skin cells build up quickly in spring.
Brightening Mask and Blemish Rescue Mask gently refine skin using a Super Fruit Acids Complex and bacteria-fighting botanicals — without causing dryness or irritation.
A final note
As with all new skincare products, patch test first. While flare-ups may tempt you to overhaul your routine, it’s best to change only one or two products at a time to maintain skin stability.
